Cobhams Asuquo is a Nigerian Musician, Producer, and songwriter.
Renowned Nigerian musician and producer, Cobhams Asuquo has been appointed by the United Nations Children’s Fund, UNICEF as the body’s National Ambassador for Nigeria.
The appointment was announced by UNICEF’s Nigerian Representative, Mr Peter Hawkins in Kaduna on Wednesday, through a statement with the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN.
According to Mr Hawkins, Cobhams Asuquo’s appointment makes him Nigeria’s first entertainer to be considered for the role in fifteen years.

Explaining Cobhams role as UNICEF National Ambassador, Hawkins stated that the ‘We Go Win’ crooner will help the body raise awareness around concerns on children’s rights and solutions.
These include but not limited to issues with birth registration, education, protection from violence, and immunization.
The UNICEF Representative stated his delight in welcoming Cobhams into the UNICEF family, even as Nigeria celebrates Children’s Day.

Cobhams who is internationally acclaimed with numerous awards in his bunker is a special talent with songwriting one of the hottest skills he’s known for home and abroad.
Cobhams who is a lawyer by training, shot to limelight when he produced the debut album of sensational Nigerian soul singer, Asa.
Asa’s self themed ASA album had great hits like Fire on The Mountain, Jailer, and more.
He has worked with virtually every big name in the Nigerian music industry including Banky W, Eldee, Sasha, Timi Dakolo, Tiwa Savage, Praiz, Lara George and so many others.
While accepting the appointment, Cobhams stated how honored he is to be added to the list of Goodwill Ambassadors to UNICEF.

He stated his passion for children’s rights and Nigeria, promising to make his contribution towards the improvement of lives of children and young ones in the country.
Cobhams has been working with UNICEF in the past, using his music skills to raise awareness on children and young people-related issues.
In 2019, he produced the hit single ‘I am a Nigerian Child (For Every Child),” where he called for children’s right to be protected and respected.
Following the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, Cobhams released the ‘We Go Win Corona’ anthem to create awareness for Nigerians on how to fight the lethal virus.
