Chelsea forward Cole Palmer has opened up about the upcoming Premier League clash between his current club and his former team, Manchester City, expressing mixed feelings about the encounter at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.
Having made the switch from Manchester City to Chelsea in a high-profile £42.5 million deal during the summer of 2023, Palmer acknowledges that facing his former club will be both “strange and weird.”
Despite the potential emotional challenge of competing against his former teammates, the 21-year-old has emerged as a standout performer under Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino this season.

With an impressive record of 12 goals and nine assists in 28 appearances for Chelsea thus far, Cole Palmer has solidified his position as one of Pochettino’s key players during the current campaign.
“It will be strange, a weird feeling, but I am looking forward to it and the team’s looking forward to it,” Palmer told Chelsea’s website about the Blues’ upcoming Premier League tie with Man City.
“I am very excited to be honest, even though it will be strange. Obviously, I played against them at Stamford Bridge.
“But I think going back to the Etihad will be even stranger. I am really looking forward to it.”
