The woman is allegedly to have stolen a large sum of money from her employer, before burning down his house.

The woman was arrested with two other accomplices.
Men of the Gombe state police command have arrested one Hannatu Ibrahim, a 28-year-old woman for theft, amongst other crimes.
According to reports, the woman allegedly stole $35,000 (N53,495,400.00) Dom her Syrian employer, Mohammed Jurdi.
This happened in the New GRA neighbourhood of Gombe.
Confirming the arrest the state Police Public Relations Officer, Buhari Abdullahi, in a statement released on Wednesday, March 26 said the prime suspect was arrested alongside two other accomplices, Ahmed Adamu, 20 and Abubakar Ibrahim, 28.
The statement reads;
On 22/03/2025 at about 2000hrs, a distress call was received from New GRA Gombe, behind Legislative Quarters that first suspect who happened to be a cook to one Mohammed Jurdi “M” a Syrian attached to Triacter Nigeria Limited stole away his money, sum of $35,000 (53,495,400.00) and set his house ablaze,”
“Upon receipt of the call, the Police Patrol Team from Gombe Division swiftly swung into action and arrested the Prime suspect “Hannatu Ibrahim”.

“Upon investigation, she was found in possession of $7,100 US dollars and the said suspect revealed that the second suspect was the first person who came into contact with her, therefore he removed two (2) pieces of 100 dollar note.
“Immediately, the second suspect was arrested and a 100 dollar note was found inside his wallet.
“However, the third suspect was the security man to the said victim, who was also arrested in connection to the alleged crime.
“Exhibits Recovered: 1. Sum of $7,100 US dollars from ( 1st suspect) 2. The sum of $100 US Dollars from (2nd suspect)
“The case will soon be charged to court upon completion of the investigation.”
Rivers State Government To Pay N1.1 Billion to Residents Over Unlawful Demolitions
The Rivers state government has been ordered to compensate resident whose properties were demolished.
This comes after a series of houses and buildings were demolished in Port Harcourt.
