Trouble started for 26-year-old Adigwe when the police officers attempted to carry out a search on her Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) with number plate Delta Asaba-33HK, after she was flagged down along Nnebisi Road by Kowen Plaza, at about 9:30 pm.

The search attempt resulted in a scuffle where she and three others reportedly pounced on the policemen.

Miss Adigwe refused to cooperate with the officers, but yelled “do you know who I am?” at the security agents, before proceeding to slap one of them after jumping out of her vehicle.

Mr Samuel, on sighting the altercation between the Adigwe and the policemen parked his vehicle, joined the

melee and also slapped one of the policemen.

Two other a joined Mr Agu in attacking the security agents.

BIGPENNGR reported that the Vice-Chairman was emboldened by the support from Agu and the two others, and dished out more slaps on the security agents.

The officers were provoked to shoot but calmed themselves and resorted to filming the scene.

“The security men were provoked to the point of shooting but calmed themselves down. They thereafter called for reinforcement before the attackers were subdued, arrested, and were taken to “A” Division of the Nigeria Police station in Asaba”, a source told BIGPENNGR.

Adigwe apparently became more aggressive upon discovering that the officers were filming her actions.

The suspects were arraigned at a Magistrate Court 1 in Asaba on a 16-count charge and were remanded at the Ogwashi-Uku and Agbor Correctional centers.

Confirming the incident, the Delta State Police Public Relations Officers, DSP Edafe Bright said the case has been adjourned till March 16 for hearing.
