Councillors Impeach LG Chairman Over Corruption in Niger

Councillors Impeach LG Chairman Over Corruption in Niger | Daily Report Nigeria

Eleven Councillors out of fifteen of Shiroro Local Government Council in Niger State, have impeached their Chairman, Sulaiman Dauda Chukuba.

The impeachment of the Chairman was not unconnected with illegal withdrawal and spending of the Council Internally Generated Revenue without approval as well as embezzlement of funds

Other allegations levelled against the Chairman include failure to present to the Council an estimate of revenues and expenditure of the Local Government as well as gross misconduct

The impeachment proceedings was presided by the House Leader, Yusuf Aliyu and had fourteen Members in attendance.
