Court Begins Trial of Eze Ndigbo Over Alleged Terrorism

A High Court in Lagos has begun the trial of one Eze Ndigbo of Ajao Estate, Frederick Nwajagu for alleged terrorism.

The court sitting was at the Tafawa Balewa Square, TBS on July 5.

Daily Report Nigeria reports that Nwajagu was arrested in April by the Department of State Services, DSS.

The 67-year-old Igbo leader allegedly threatened to invite members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, to Lagos to secure the property of Igbos in the state.

Following the threat, he was first arraigned on May 9 on a nine-count charge bordering on the alleged offence in a suit marked LD/21505C/2023.

Nwajagu appeared before the court on Tuesday but without a legal representative.

He then told the court he was surprised about the absence of his counsel as the lawyer promised to be in court with his junior.

The court further adjourned the matter till Wednesday for the commencement of trial.
