BREAKING: Court Grants Stella Oduah Bail, Gives Fresh Order to FG

Court Arraigns Stella Oduah Over N5b fraud

A Federal High Court has granted former aviation minister, Stella Oduah bail after her arraignment on Friday.

Daily Report Nigeria reports that the court particularly ordered for the office of the Attorney-General of the Federation to lead the prosecution of Oduah, he ex-aide and seven others over an alleged misappropriation of N5 billion.

Lead judge, Justice Inyang Ekwo gave the the order on Friday following an arraignment of Oduah and other defendants.

They all pleaded not guilty to the 25-count charge brought against them by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Justice Ekwo also granted Oduah and other defendants bail on the same conditions attached to the administrative bail earlier granted them by the EFCC.

Charged alongside Oduah and Odita in the suit marked FHC/ABJ/CR/316/2020 are Nwosu Emmanuel Nnamdi, Chukwuma Irene Chinyere, Global Offshore and Marine Ltd, Tip Top Global Resources Ltd, Crystal Television Ltd, Sobora International Ltd and China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) Nigeria Ltd.

The judge said the order for the AGF to assume further handling of the case was informed by the poor handling of it by the EFCC and the huge controversy that has surrounded it.

He also ordered the EFCC to hand over the case file and all other necessary materials relating to the case to the AGF.
