An Area Court Judge in Jos, Plateau state, has sentenced Umar Abdullahi, a 26-year-old driver, to six months in prison for stealing a motorcycle.

The Judge, Shawomi Bokkos, sentenced the convict after he pleaded guilty to the charge.

However, the judge gave Abdullahi an option to pay a fine of N20,000 and ordered him to pay another N68,000 for the unrecovered motorcycle.

The prosecutor, Insp Ibrahim Gokwat, earlier told the court that the case was reported on Oct. 9, at the Angwan Rogo Police Station by Sani Umar, the complainant.

According to Gokwat, Abdullahi dishonestly took the motorcycle valued sixty-eight naira and ran away with it until he was nabbed by the police.
