In a recent court ruling, Justice M. O. Idowu of the Lagos State High Court has ordered social media critic Martin Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, to remove defamatory comments and videos concerning human rights activist Femi Falana (SAN) and his son, Folarin.

The court’s decision stems from a lawsuit filed by Falana and Falz, alleging that VeryDarkMan’s posts on September 24, 2024, linked Bobrisky to them and were injurious to their public image.

According to Dawodu, the applicants stated that VeryDarkMan knew the statements were false but published them anyway to harm their reputation.

The defamatory statements are still available online, causing ongoing damage to their reputation.

The court’s ruling is a significant step in addressing the spread of misinformation and defamation on social media.

Falana and Falz have yet to comment on the court’s decision, but it is clear that they are seeking justice for the harm caused by VeryDarkMan’s actions.
