Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja ordered the remand of some #EndBadGovernance protesters in Kuje Correctional Centre on Monday. The protesters were charged with treason and pleaded not guilty to the six-count charge bordering on terrorism slammed against them by the Federal Government.

“We plead not guilty to the six-count charge,” said the protesters in a statement.

The Judge fixed the date for the hearing and ruling on their bail application for September 11, 2024. “The Federal Government has slammed a six-count charge bordering on terrorism against the protesters,” said Justice Emeka Nwite.

The protesters were remanded in prison pending the hearing and ruling on their bail application. The case has generated widespread reaction, with many calling for the release of the protesters.
