The pastor was said to have invited the eldest sister for prayers after she declined his proposal to be his lover.

It was alleged that the pastor eventually raped the victim and her two siblings at different times.

“When the complainants (victims) discovered that the pastor has been taking sexual advantage of them, they stopped attending the church and the development made the pastor to threaten that calamity would befall them,” the police report said.

The court however, did not take the plea of the accused person.

The prosecutor, Inspector Matthew Ologbonsaye, informed the court of a motion exparte attached to the charges, urging the court to remand the pastor pending the outcome of the legal advice from the state Director of Public Prosecution in the state Ministry of Justice.

The magistrate, Fatimah Salihu, while ruling that the court lacks jurisdiction to take the pastor’s plea ordered that the pastor be taken to the Federal Correctional Facility, Ilorin, pending the receipt of advice from the DPP.

The case was adjourned till September 14, 2022 for further mention in court.
