11 people have been sentenced to death by hanging after being arraigned before a high court for killing seven people in Niger state.
The convicts who are all from Anfani community in Lavun council, were said to have murdered their victims in Gaba community over a land dispute in December 2018.
Justice Maimuna Talatu Abubakar while passing judgment noted that they were all found guilty of culpable homicide which is a punishable offence under Section 221 of the penal code, “this attracts the death penalty”.

11 persons were found guilty, while15 others who were linked to the case were discharged and acquitted.
