The N20 billion exemplary and aggravated damages awarded to foremost Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has been voided by the Ibadan Division of the Appeal Court.

Justice Muslim Hassan on Tuesday nullified the damages that were awarded Igboho against the Department of State Security.

The court in its ruling also set aside the judgment that declared the invasion on Sunday Igboho’s house illegal.

Justice Hassan described the award for damages by the Oyo State High Court against the DSS as outrageous, saying it ignored the grounds for the case in acquiring jurisdiction.
