COVID-19: FG Orders Civil Servants To Undergo Test | Daily Report Nigeria

The Federal Government of Nigeria has directed all ministries, departments and agencies to undergo mandatory COVID-19 tests for all civil servants.

This was made known through a circular issued by the Head of Service of the federation, Folashade Yemi-Esan, to all Permanent Secretaries.

According to the circular, the Federal Government had made provisions for facilities to allow for the conduct of the COVID-19 tests, at THISDAY Dome and Nanet Suites in Abuja.

The circular reads in part;

“Accordingly, you are required to notify all staff of the availability of the testing facility, to enable members of staff who experience COVID-19 related symptoms and those wishing to get tested in your MDAs to take advantage of this opportunity.

“The Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation has also updated the ‘ Guidelines on the Control of Coronavirus Disease ( COVID-19 ) Service- Wide’ to address emerging issues in the control of the disease in the work environment.

According to latest update from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Nigeria has recorded over 38,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19, 16,061 discharged and 833 deaths.
