COVID-19: Nigeria Will Receive Pfizer Vaccine By January 2021 _ Dr Okonjo Iweala | Daily Report Nigeria

Former minister of finance, Dr. Okonjo Iweala, has assured Nigeria and other African countries of access to COVID-19 vaccines as from January, 2021.

This was disclosed in a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and as also quoted by Okonjo Iweala after a closed door meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, in Abuja on Wednesday, December 9.

Okonjo Iweala, who is currently on the African Union Special Envoy on mobilising international economic support for the fight against COVID-19, disclosed that the Pfizer vaccine and AstraZeneca were presently being negotiated so that poor counties could also get it affordably.

She added that Africans were really blessed for not having the same incidence rate of COVID-19 compared to other continents, even though as she warned African nations against complacency.
