Covid-19: Poultry Farmers Donates 45,000 Eggs to Patients in Lagos

The Lagos state chapter, Epe zone of the Poultry Farmers Association of Nigeria has donated 45,000 eggs to COVID-19 patient in the state.

While donating the eggs to the state government through the Ministry of Agriculture, the Epe zonal chairman of PFAN, Folasade Gam-Ikon, stated that the donation was to complement government’s efforts in containing the spread of the virus.

She expressed that the eggs and other food items would go a long way in aiding the quick recovery of patients.

Folasade also noted that eggs have immunity-boosting nutrients which will enhance the health status of the beneficiaries.

Receiving the eggs on behalf of the state government, Lagos state Permanent Secretary in thr Ministry of Agriculture, Dr. Olayiwole thanked the association for supporting the government in its good gesture.

He assured that the items would be efficiently disbursed to the intended beneficiaries.

Different individuals and organizations have contributed various degrees of items to both the Federal Government of Nigeria and state governments.

For instance, the Ooni of Ile-Ife, His Imperial Majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, donated motorized modular to the Delta state government has part of his contribution to support the fight against the spread of Coronavirus.

The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA donated ventilators and vessels to the Lagos state government in April in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.

Nigeria’s leading indigenous airline, Air Peace distributed food items to over 300 households in the City of Excellence at the imposition of the state’s first lockdown.

In Osun state, The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, contributed the sum of twenty million Naira to help the state battle the lethal virus.

Adeboye also donated Intensive Care Unit equipments with attached ventilators to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, LASUTH, to help the state treat infected persons.

Back in Delta state, the Founder and Senior Pastor of Mercy Land Deliverance Ministry (Mercy City), Prophet Omoto Fufeyin contributed relief materials in food items to the Delta State Government to be distributed to poor citizens in the state.
