The Portuguese superstar sustained the injury during Al-Nassr’s most recent match when he limped off late in the game with what first appeared to be a minor muscle problem.
However, further examinations later revealed a tear in the back of his right thigh, forcing the club’s medical team to rule him out of several upcoming fixtures, including their match against Neom SC.
Following the diagnosis, Ronaldo travelled to Madrid to undergo specialised treatment with his personal medical team.
Al-Nassr manager Jorge Jesus confirmed the development while speaking to reporters ahead of the club’s next game.
“In the last game he left with muscle complaints,” Jesus said.
“After undergoing tests it became clear that the injury was more serious than expected, requiring rest and recovery.”
The coach added that the decision to send Ronaldo abroad was necessary because the forward works closely with a specialist based in Spain.
“Cristiano travelled to Spain… the injury requires treatment in Madrid with the professional who works with him,” he explained.
Ronaldo’s absence is expected to be a significant setback for Al-Nassr FC, where he remains one of the team’s most influential players and top goal scorers.
The club has yet to announce an official timeline for his return, but the priority remains ensuring a full recovery before he resumes competitive action.
