A crossdresser has been gruesomely murdered by an unknown gunmen in South Africa.

According to reports reaching Daily Report Nigeria, the victim, identified as Syabonga Clement Hadebe, 22 was found by the police with multiple gunshots wounds.

The police revealed that a total of nice gunshot wounds were found on the body of the victim, and cartridges were found on the ground. This happened on August 10, 2024 in Malvern, Johannesburg.

Local news reported Hadebe to have been at a popular outing with a friend when they began interacting with a man who is alleged to have been the shooter.

 

It was said that before they decided to leave with the alleged shooter, Hadebe’s friend asked him to disclose he was a gay crossdresser.

Hadebe did not follow his friend’s advice.

They afterwards left with the alleged shooter and dropped of Hadebe’s friend before heading to a B&B.

Confirming the incident, the civil society engagement officer for LGBTQ well-being, Sibonelo Ncanana said;

“is appalled by the murder of Clement as well as the queerphobic victim-blaming sensationalism surrounding his death.

“Victim-blaming is never acceptable,” said Ncanana. “The notion that LGBTIQ+ people are hiding who they are when they are simply being themselves is deeply concerning. Our identity is not something that requires disclosure.”
