According to findings by reporters, Saheed had attended the naming ceremony with some of his associates when unidentified men suddenly stormed the venue.
Witnesses said the event had just ended when confusion erupted among guests.
“They had already finished naming the child when we noticed a sudden commotion,” a source told our correspondent. “At first, we thought it was a normal fight, but when people started shouting, we saw Saheed lying on the ground in blood. Everyone ran for safety.”
An anti-cultism advocacy group, Confra Naija, later suggested that the incident was linked to a rival cult attack, claiming Saheed was targeted during the gathering.
The group alleged that Saheed had sensed danger in the area and attended the event cautiously, but was caught off guard when attackers struck from behind.
Following the attack, Saheed was rushed to a hospital, where he battled for his life. Sadly, he died two days later from injuries sustained during the assault.
As of the time of filing this report, no arrests have been confirmed, and police authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
