The Nigeria Customs Service’s Sokoto/Zamfara Area Command has returned 15 seized grain trucks to their owners.

The development was announced on Tuesday by Abdullahi Abubakar, the Public Relations Officer of the command.

Abubakar clarified that the progress resulted from President Bola Tinubu’s directives.

Tinubu had specifically instructed the Customs to return all confiscated food items at the border to their original owners.

The condition set was that the items must be sold in Nigerian markets, thereby boosting food availability.

Controller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi revealed that Tinubu’s decision was not based on legal guidelines but rather stemmed from his deep sense of generosity towards Nigeria.
