Tinubu had specifically instructed the Customs to return all confiscated food items at the border to their original owners.

The condition set was that the items must be sold in Nigerian markets, thereby boosting food availability.

Controller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi revealed that Tinubu’s decision was not based on legal guidelines but rather stemmed from his deep sense of generosity towards Nigeria.
