Operatives of the Nigerian custom service have intercepted a container container a large amount of cannabis.

According to reports, a container containing cannabis worth three billion naira was said to have been imported into Nigeria, but was successfully intercepted by operatives of Tincan Island Command of the Nigerian Customs Service.

Speaking on this, the Comptroller General of Customs, Wale Adeniyi said some cartons of cough syrup were also seized.

This is coming days after the service said it seized smuggled Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) or petrol, worth ₦106m in seven days.

In other news, the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun has seriously warned against awarding promotions to undeserving officers.

He said this while promoting top officers on Friday, June 14, adding that some officers go through some highly places personalities to “work” their promotions, and such act will not be tolerated. Check full post here
