A tragic incident occurred in Abuja, where a Nigeria Customs Service officer, Abdulwahab Magaji, serving in the Federal Capital Territory, reportedly took his own life.

Magaji commited the crime by shooting himself at his residence on Binta Street, Farm Estate area.

According to a senior law enforcement officer, the incident happened on Monday, May 6.

The source revealed that the family of the deceased raised an alarm, prompting police officers to rush to the scene.

Magaji was rushed to Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, where he was pronounced dead by the attending doctor.

Meanwhile, the police have taken over the investigation into the circumstances surrounding Magaji’s death.

However, efforts to reach the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, and the Customs National Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Maiwada, for comments were unsuccessful, as they were unavailable as of press time.
