The said letter was circulated through the Ebonyi State Football Association.
According to the petition, one day before a match against E-World FC, the Cynosure FC chairman reached out to the chairman of Liberty Lions FC in Calabar, asking him to approach E-World’s president (another Ebibio native) to engineer the match in Cynosure’s favor.
However, Liberty Lions FC declined to engage in these efforts.

Consequently, the NLO Secretariat has commenced a formal inquiry into both individuals and pledges to enforce regulations to ensure that any offenders face appropriate sanctions.
The letter reads: “The NLO Secretariat was disturbed to receive a petition against the Chairman of Cynosure FC on how he put a call across to the Chairman of Liberty Lions FC Calabar a day before his last league match in order to compromise the match against E-World FC, this was the same match that the chairman of Cynosure FC complained of because it did not favour his club.”
“It was confirmed that the Chairman of Cynosure FC lobbied the Liberty Lions FC Chairman to speak with his fellow indigene, the president of E-World FC, to assist him with the match, but Liberty Lions FC declined [saying] that he is not ready to be part of his shenanigans.”
“Sequel to the above, the NLO Secretariat, acting on the rule book, has opened an investigation on both parties and will ensure the culprit did not go unpunished.
