Dandizzy Opens Up About the Challenges of a Celebrity, Pretense in the Music Industry

1 Min Read

Nigerian singer Daniel Tuotamuno Darius, known as Dandizzy, recently shared a candid observation about the challenges of being a celebrity.

According to him, one of the frustrations of fame is the pressure to maintain a facade of camaraderie with other celebrities, even if the connection feels forced. Dandizzy explained that when artists encounter each other, there’s often an expectation to exchange words of praise and encouragement, regardless of how familiar they are with each other’s work.

Drawing from his own experience, Dandizzy admitted to occasionally pretending to be a fan of another musician’s music, even if he hasn’t actually listened to any of their tracks. In a tweet, he expressed this sentiment, saying,

“The most annoying thing about being popular is having to pretend you fxck with other popular people when you meet them, you be like ‘hey bro what’s good?? You’re dope bro’ me wey never listen to any of your shit before.”
