Dangote Group, the parent company of Dangote Cement, has spoken concerning reports that it plans to reduce cement prices by 50.9% on October 1, 2023.
Anthony Chiejina, the Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer of Dangote Industries Limited dismissed the reports of a price reduction on October 1, describing it as fake.

Chiejina then advised the public to ignore any statement that did not come from the Dangote group.
Bashir Ahmad, the ex-presidential aide to former President Muhammadu Buhari also confirmed X on Sunday evening.
Ahmed said:
“The Dangote Group has denied the trending reports that it has reduced the price of cement from N5500 to N2700 effective October 1st.”
However, there were reports that the federal government’s plan to build concrete roads will increase the cost of cement from N5,000 per bag price to N9,000 according to cement producers.
