Dangote Refinery has commenced the export of Premium Motor Spirit to Cameroon

This export signals a new era of economic partnership between Nigeria and Cameroon, as well as a step forward in intra-African trade and energy independence.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Dangote Refinery confirmed that the export, made possible through a strategic partnership with Neptune Oil, a Cameroon-based energy company, sets the stage for enhanced energy collaboration across the continent.

Alhaji Aliko Dangote, President and CEO of Dangote Group, celebrated the achievement, emphasizing its importance for Africa’s energy future.

“This first export of PMS to Cameroon is a tangible demonstration of our vision for a united and energy-independent Africa. With this development, we are laying the foundation for a future where African resources are refined and exchanged within the continent for the benefit of our people,” Dangote said.

The partnership between Dangote Refinery and Neptune Oil is expected to have far-reaching benefits for Cameroon’s energy security. Antoine Ndzengue, Director and Owner of Neptune Oil, expressed his enthusiasm, describing the partnership as a turning point for the country’s energy sector.

“By becoming the first importer of petroleum products from this world-class refinery, we are bolstering our country’s energy security and supporting local economic development,” he said.

For Nigeria, the export is a testament to Dangote Refinery’s ability to meet domestic fuel needs while positioning itself as a major player in the regional energy market.

The refinery’s processing capacity of 650,000 barrels per day makes it the largest single-train refinery in the world, solidifying its role in driving energy transformation across Africa.

“The development not only showcases the refinery’s capabilities but also reinforces its commitment to driving energy transformation across Africa,” Dangote added.

Neptune Oil, a key energy company in Cameroon, is equally committed to ensuring sustainable and independent energy solutions. “This initial supply reflects our commitment to serving our markets independently and efficiently,” Ndzengue stated.
