Dangote refinery set for commissioning

Dangote Group has officially announced the launch date for its highly anticipated refineries.

The commissioning is set to take place on Monday, May 22, 2023, as indicated in a letter of invitation that is currently circulating on social media.

The multi-billion-dollar Oil Refinery and Petrochemical Company is expected to provide solutions to Nigeria’s long-standing refining issues.

According to a reliable source, President Buhari would inaugurate the plant.

However, in a statement released by Mr Anthony Chiejina, the Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer of Dangote Industries Limited, has categorically denied recent reports that the company’s refinery was scheduled for inauguration by President Buhari during his visit to Lagos in January.

Chiejina stated that these reports were entirely false and that no such plans were ever made.

Furthermore, Chiejina emphasized that the refinery project was still ongoing, with construction progressing as planned.

He reiterated the company’s commitment to completing the project on time and to the highest standards of quality.

He also expressed confidence in the refinery’s potential to significantly boost Nigeria’s economy and create thousands of jobs.

The company reportedly said in the statement:

“However, our refinery will be commissioned before President Muhammadu Buhari formally leaves office in May 2023, and the public will be duly informed and invited to the epic event.”
