Dangote Refinery Produces First Petrol Sample, Targets Nigerian, African Markets

The Dangote Refinery has successfully produced its first sample of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), also known as petrol.

The President of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, presented the presentation during a broadcast at the refinery in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos State.

“I salute the people of Nigeria and the government of President Bola Tinubu for giving us the platform for growth, development, and prosperity,” Dangote said. “I also thank him personally for creating the idea of the Naira for crude, which will give Naira stability.”

The 650,000-capacity refinery has begun a test run of the product and plans to meet the demands of Nigerians and the entire sub-Saharan Africa.

Dangote emphasized the significance of the refinery, stating, “As we have this refinery working, it will show the true consumption of Nigeria; we can track every loaded truck and ship.”
