Dangote Refinery has introduced petrol at ₦739 per litre at all MRS Oil Nigeria Plc filling stations nationwide.

Over 2,000 MRS outlets are expected to reflect the new price, backed by a daily supply capacity of 50 million litres.

The move is aimed at curbing festive fuel hikes, stabilising supply, and easing pressure on consumers.
Dangote Petroleum Refinery has commenced the nationwide sale of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), popularly known as petrol, at a pump price of ₦739 per litre across all MRS Oil Nigeria Plc filling stations.
The refinery announced the development in a statement issued on Sunday, describing the rollout as a major step toward ensuring affordable fuel supply and stabilising Nigeria’s downstream petroleum market.

With more than 2,000 MRS stations operating nationwide, the company said the new pricing regime is expected to be uniformly implemented, allowing consumers across the country to benefit from the reduction.

Dangote Refinery commended MRS and other marketers that have already adjusted their pump prices in line with the new rate, urging others to do same in support of economic recovery efforts.
“We commend marketers who have demonstrated patriotism by reflecting the reduced pump price. We encourage others to align with this effort as a contribution to Nigeria’s economic stability,” the statement said.
Fuel scarcity and sharp price increases have historically characterised Nigeria’s festive seasons. However, the refinery noted that its intervention—supported by a guaranteed daily supply of 50 million litres—is designed to prevent such disruptions during the holiday period.
By refining petroleum products locally at scale, the refinery said it is helping to reduce Nigeria’s dependence on imports, conserve foreign exchange, stabilise the naira, and strengthen national energy security.
The company warned against attempts by unscrupulous operators to create artificial scarcity in response to the price cut, calling on regulatory agencies to remain vigilant.
“Any effort to manipulate supply or frustrate recent price reductions is unacceptable. Regulatory authorities must take firm action, especially during this critical festive period,” the refinery added.
Consumers were advised to avoid purchasing fuel at inflated prices and to report any MRS outlet selling above the approved ₦739 per litre rate.
Dangote Petroleum Refinery reaffirmed its commitment to steady supply, price moderation, and long-term national interest, stressing that its operations are focused on sustainable economic benefits rather than short-term market gains.
