Nigerian Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, met with French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris on Thursday in what has been described as a symbolic meeting of art, culture, and diplomacy.

Davido, who has continued to expand his international reach, shared photos from the encounter on his verified Instagram page, where he expressed excitement and appreciation for the opportunity to engage with the French leader.

“it was an honor meeting @emmanuelmacron and sharing our visions for a better world,” the singer wrote in his caption, alongside pictures of the warm handshake between him and the president.

The meeting took place in Paris, France’s capital, where Davido was accompanied by his close associates, prominent businessman Pascal Okechukwu, also known as Cubana Chief Priest, and his manager, Asika.

Though details of their discussion were not made public, sources close to the singer hinted that Davido and Macron spoke about the growth of the Afrobeats industry, youth empowerment, and the cultural collaboration between Africa and Europe.
