Nigerian singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has opened up about coping with the pain of losing loved ones.
Davido, who has faced multiple personal losses, including the death of his mother, Victoria Imade Adeleke, when he was just 11, and more recently, his 3-year-old son Ifeanyi, as well as close friends and associates like Tagbo, DJ Olu, Obama DMW, and his personal photographer Fortune, spoke about how he manages to move forward despite the grief.

In a recent interview with Mystery Fashionist in New York, Davido revealed that his faith has been his source of strength through these difficult times.
Reflecting on the losses, he shared, “I have lost a lot of people. I lost my mum at the age of eleven. I’m just being strong. I did a song called ‘Stand Strong.’ I feel like strength and obviously, my faith has kept me going.”
The singer also addressed some common misconceptions about his personality. He noted that some people find him unapproachable, while others think he is too accessible.
“I think sometimes, people think I am not approachable. Another misconception is that people also think I am too accessible,” he said, adding that his large family background made him used to being surrounded by people. “My talent and success are God-given,” he concluded.
