David Adeleke, better known as Davido, a Nigerian award-winning singer, is featured in the official theme song for the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
Davido announced the news on Twitter on Friday, April 1 stating that the official soundtrack will be titled “Hayya Hayya” (Better Together).
The 29-year-old singer noted that he will perform alongside Trinidad Cardona and Aisha.

He said:
“I’m honoured to be featured on the Official @FIFAWorldCup 2022 Soundtrack!
Who dey wamba, we still qualify las las.

FIFA justified Davido’s and others’ selections on its official page. It noted that they decided to “Connect with audiences worldwide through the shared passions of football and music.
The entertainment strategy was conceived to create innovative and meaningful connections between football fans, music enthusiasts, players, artists, and the game and songs they all love.
The combination of breakthrough US star Trinidad Cardona, Afrobeats icon Davido and Qatari sensation Aisha captures the spirit of the FIFA World Cup™ and the FIFA Sound strategy by bringing together inspiration from across the globe.”
FIFA’s Chief Commercial Officer, Kay Madati, reacted to the single and said:
“By bringing together voices from the Americas, Africa, and the Middle East, this song symbolises how music – and football – can unite the world.
As part of FIFA’s revamped music strategy, the multi-song soundtrack will bring passionate fans closer to the spirit of the FIFA World Cup like never before.”
FIFA announced that the track’s first public performance will take place tonight in front of a global audience of football fans who will tune in from all over the world to watch the highly anticipated draw, which will begin at 19:00 local time.
