De-recognition: PDP Chieftain Drags Wike to Court

A chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party in Rivers State, Sir Celestine Omehia has dragged the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike to Court.

According to reports, Omehia wanted the state government to pay for damages following his derecognition.

Omehia was de-recognised by Wike as a former governor of the State a few weeks ago for allegedly supporting Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the party.

This was understood to be against the wish of Wike.

Wike had in a statement said the derecognition was not political as the State Assembly only realized that recognizing Omehia was a mistake and decided to correct it.

Rivers State Governor had also during the inauguration of projects in the State, threatened to deal with anyone who betrayed the state.
