Death Meets 6 as Terrorists Attack Army Convoy in Katsina

No less than six people have been reported dead during an attack on an army convoy by suspected terrorists in the home State of President Muhammadu Buhari, Katsina.

The military convoy was escorting residents of the Shimfida community to Jibia Town on Wednesday, August 31.

The armed men ambushed the military convoy along the state’s Shimfida–Gurbi Road, Jibia Local Government Area, according to reports.

Two Nigerian soldiers were brutally murdered and including four other civilians during the attack.

Also, an officer was declared missing in action and feared abducted by the terrorists.

An Armoured Personnel Carrier ran over IEDs planted by the terrorists, killing two soldiers and four civilians.

Some bandits were also killed while others sustained life-threatening injuries,” a source said.
