Dele Momodu Criticizes PDP Member for Publicly Berating Party Leadership | Daily Report Nigeria

Media mogul and politician Dele Momodu has expressed deep concerns about the behavior of a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). In an open letter, Momodu criticized the unnamed member for publicly berating the party and its leadership during a live television appearance.

Momodu noted that the individual, who has risen through the ranks of the PDP to a position of prominence, had reportedly lambasted fellow members, even referring to them as “vampires.”

He emphasized that while political parties may have disagreements, it is critical to maintain decorum and respect for the institution that had played a significant role in shaping the individual’s career.

Momodu questioned the necessity of forming a Reconciliation Committee within the party, arguing that politics, like religion or marriage, is a voluntary act, and members should be free to leave if they are frustrated. However, he condemned the behavior of trying to “bring the roof down” and acting as if one person owns the entire party.

Momodu further lamented that the party almost lost a governor due to the inflated ego of a single individual, calling for greater humility and respect among party members. He pointed out that just as others helped this prominent figure in the past, it is essential to reciprocate that goodwill rather than treating others like slaves or holding them ransom.

Momodu concluded his letter by warning that if past leaders had displayed the same level of indiscipline, there would have been no PDP for the current leaders to inherit. He emphasized the need for the party to wake up from its deep slumber and seize the moment to collaborate with other opposition parties to rescue Nigeria from the APC.
