Delta 2023: APC Governorship Aspirant Withdraws, Set to Decamp to PDP | Daily Report Nigeria

Olorogun Jaro Egbo, a governorship aspirant under the All Progressive Congress, has withdrawn his ambition to contest for the seat in Delta State.

According to Egbo, his decision became necessary as the APC in Delta State has become a one-man affair.

Egbo, in a press statement on Saturday, revealed that his prayer request to God “was to be Governor or get the opportunity to play a key role in who will emerge as Governor of Delta State, come 2023.”

He however, lamented that there is a “monstrous takeover of all party structures and machinery by an arch-Facist and anti-democratic fellow.”

Continuing, Egbo said “The party we all worked to build in Delta State has become a new APC, Alibaba Political Cabal which has now rendered the tickets of the original Delta APC as a worthless piece of paper that cannot win any election in Delta State.

“It is therefore my conclusion that it will amount to futile exercise to vie for the governorship or any elective position under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State.”

Apart from withdrawing from the gubernatorial race, Egbo also announced he will not be seeking any elective position under the APC.

“I will henceforth deploy my resources and my Hivoltage political platform in working towards the emergence of a visionary Pan-Deltan governorship candidate who will move Delta State to higher levels of development,” then statement added.

Egbo set to decamp to PDP

meanwhile, reports are rife that Olorogun Egbo Jaro is finalizing plans to defect from the All Progressives Congress (APC), to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

This was stated by the Publisher of Secret Reporters, Oliver Fejiro on Saturday.

According to Oliver, “Egbo met with Governor Ifeanyi A. Okowa secretly in Delta State Government House on Tuesday.”

While no confirmation has been made to that effect, the defection of Egbo from the APC will further dealt a heavy blow to the chances of the party at the 2023 general elections.
