Delta 2023: Funkekeme Lauds Ijaws For Adopting Oborevwori as Sole Guber Candidate | Daily Report Nigeria

The Director-General of the Peoples Democratic Party’s Campaign Council in Delta State, Hon. Funkekeme Solomon, has expressed immense appreciation to Ijaws in the state for endorsing Sheriff Oborevwori as their sole governorship candidate for the 2023 poll.

Funkekeme particularly commended the Alaowei Brodrick Bozimo-led Delta State Ijaw Leaders for adopting Oborevwori, describing the Delta assembly Speaker as a friend of the Ijaws.

‘Ogoun’ said this while addressing journalists at his hometown, Ojobo, Burutu Local Government Area, on Christmas day, while receiving thousands of youths and women who visited him for the yuletide.

He appealed to all Ijaws to line behind his principal to elect him as the next Governor of Delta State.

Funkekeme’s plea is coming on the heels of an unveiling of Oborevwori by political leaders across the five local government areas Ijaws are domiciled as sole guber candidate in the forthcoming general elections.

He said;
“The Director, the Council and the entire Management Committee are more than excited, particularly as such endorsement is coming from no less a personality than Alaowei Brodrick Bozimo, a former Federal Minister, former commissioner in the defunct Bendel state, INC leader who recently championed the course for the actualisation of Ijaw candidacy in the leading political parties to whom all Ijaw aspirants submitted themselves.

“As the saying goes, power belongs to God, none of the Ijaw aspirants clinched the ticket in any of the political parties in the state. For such a very reverred person to lead the pack to do the endorsement, speaks a lot of volumes and I really appreciate the move which is the right direction, and attestation of the unflinching position of the Ijaws on my Principal, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Oborevwori.”

The Director also used the forum to highlight the economic, political and social benefits an Okowa Vice- Presidency will accrue to Delta State.

Funkekeme urged Deltans to vote massively for the Atiku/Okowa presidential Ticket, and indeed all PDP candidates in the 2023 general elections, to rescue and reset Nigeria from the economic and political slavery caused by the All Progressives Congress, APC.
