Delta 2023: Ijaws Must be Sincere to Themselves – Alapala

As the race to who succeeds Senator Ifeanyi Okowa as Governor of Delta State thickens, Alapala Anthony Ebitonmo has called on Ijaws to be sincere with themselves.

Alapala, popularly known as Odumalagba, gave the call while speaking with Daily Report Nigeria during the Support Ijaw Governor 2023 album launch by Chief Kingsley Takemebo.

The former House of Assembly aspirant posited that only when Ijaws are open and sincere to themselves, would they have a chance to fight for the governor’s seat.

“Ijaws must be sincere to themselves. Those at the forefront must make things open and everyone must work together for them to achieve the governor’s seat,” he stressed.

However, Alapala who recently decamped to the All Progressive Congress (APC) from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), maintained that Ijaw Agenda 2023 is only an anthem for the ruling PDP.

“As an APC member, Ijaw Agenda is not for us at this point. We are yet to handpick a gubernatorial candidate. When we finally do, I’ll work with the party’s candidate, be it an Ijaw or from another group,” he added.

Alapala further exercised doubts to how ready and committed the Ijaws are towards attaining the 2023 governorship dream.
