The Delta State Government has imposed a ban on the use of fireworks for this year’s Christmas as well as the New Year celebrations on January 1, 2021.

The ban was announced on Monday in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr Chiedu Ebei.

According to the SSG, the government’s decision was influenced by the security implications that may likely arise within the yuletide season.

Security agencies have been directed to enforce the ban for the safety of citizens in the state, as anyone found guilty will be prosecuted.
