The Commissioner of Police in Delta state, Ari Muhammed Ali has assured citizens that the Police Command is committed to ensuring the security of everyone in the state.

CP Ali stated this while speaking ahead of the forthcoming local government elections slated for March 6, 2021 in the state.

The CP’s message was contained in a statement on Tuesday by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe.

CP Ali maintained that the command will deploy operatives to all the polling units across the state, as well as speculated hot spots to ensure a peaceful electioneering process.

He further stated his commitment to ensuring sanctity of the electoral process, as all electoral materials and officials to be engaged in the election would be secured.

“This is an appeal from the Commissioner of Police to front runners in this local government election to please caution all their supporters and foot soldiers to restrain themselves from causing chaos as such will not be tolerated,” the statement reads in part.

The newly appointed police commissioner also warned that no security aide or operatives will be allowed to accompany their principals or highly placed personalities into polling units or be involved in any movement during the elections.

He warned that any security operative caught violating the directive will be arrested and made to face the full wrath of the law.

CP Ali promised that all security operatives to be deployed for the elections will be professional in discharging their designated duties.
