With the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) beginning this weekend, the Delta State Sports Commission has set the pace for the new football calendar by unveiling the Delta Queens squad for the 2025/2026 season.

Speaking at the official presentation in Asaba, the Executive Chairman of the Commission, Hon. Onoriode Oborevwori, expressed strong confidence in the team’s readiness for the campaign. He assured that the state government would continue to provide every necessary support to help the club compete at the highest level.

Hon. Oborevwori stressed that the current administration remains committed to the growth of women’s football across the state. As the NWFL season kicks off on November 26, 2025, Delta Queens will open their campaign with a crucial away fixture against Nasarawa Amazons. The match is expected to test the squad early, setting the tone for what promises to be a competitive and exciting season for the Asaba-based side.
