Mrs Bridget Pondi, wife of the lawmaker representing Burutu Federal Constituency, Julius Pondi, has distributed education materials to schools in the Burutu Local Government Area
The materials were presented to the Council on Friday in Burutu at the climax of the swearing-in ceremony for supervisory councillors.
Presenting the items on behalf of Mrs Pondi, Hon. Tonkiri Apu said the gesture was an attempt to lessen the economic burden on parents upon the resumption of schools after the long holiday.
According to Apu, a total of 8,000 notebooks are meant for an upward distribution to primary and secondary schools across the Council.
