Delta Soldiers Kill Three Suspected Kidnappers

Soldiers from the 63 Bridge Nigerian Army, Asaba, Delta State, on Monday shot dead three suspected kidnappers at Otulu community in Aniocha South Local Government Area.

The troops recovered N2.4 million, 52 live rounds of ammunition, an AK-47 rifle, mobile phones, and other valuables from the suspects.

It was reported that the suspects were killed during a gun battle with the soldiers. One of the soldiers sustained gunshot injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment, alongside one injured suspect.

The confrontation came after the suspects abducted a staff member of Seth Integrated Farms, identified as Igiri Samuel, and a young woman at Akwu-Kwu-Igbo, headquarters of Oshimili North Local Government Area, last Friday.

Following the abduction, the Government House tracking unit, in collaboration with troops of the 63 Brigade, pursued the kidnappers from Atuma-Iga to Otulu in Aniocha South.

“Upon sighting the soldiers, the kidnappers opened fire. Returning fire, the troops overpowered the hoodlums, killing three of them,” a source said.

According to a statement issued by the party spokesperson, Debo Ologunagba, the committee has been tasked with ensuring the smooth execution of the convention.
