Angry women on Friday protested against electricity bills served them by the Benin Electricity Distribution Company, BEDC.
Daily Report Nigeria reports that the women who bore placards with varying inscriptions, caused heavy gridlock and human traffic at the popular Effurun Round About in Uvwie Local Government Area.
One of the protesters told our correspondent that they were served huge electricity bills despite not having power for months.
“We’ve not been having electricity but this people served us outrageous bills and expect us to pay. We will never accept that,” she said.
