According to France manager , the Les Bleu got lucky in their victory over England and he was quick to praise the performance of Gareth Southgate’s side.
The reigning world champions qualified for a semi-final against Morocco thanks to goals from Aurelien Tchouameni and Olivier Giroud, with Harry Kane both scoring and missing a penalty.

Deschamps said post-match: “It was a big game, we played a superb England team who are strong technically and physically.
“It’s brilliant for the players to be in the last four again. We got a bit lucky although we gave away two penalties but we kept our lead with our hearts and our guts.”
With Deschamps looking to win a second World Cup as a manager, having won it as a captain in 1998,
Southgate’s future is up in the air as he considers his position.
“Whenever I’ve finished these tournaments I’ve needed time to make correct decisions because emotionally you go through so many different feelings.he said
