Desire Oparanozie, former Super Falcons forward, expresses confidence in the team’s potential to leave a mark at the 2024 Olympic Games.
Following Randy Waldrum’s team’s qualification for the women’s football event by defeating African champions South Africa 1-0 on aggregate, they have been placed in Group C alongside world champions Spain, Japan, and Brazil.
Despite the formidable lineup of opponents in their group, Oparanozie remains steadfast in her belief that the Super Falcons will deliver standout performances at the Games.

The Super Falcons will kick off their campaign against Brazil in their first match at Paris 2024.
“It’s a tough group, Spain are world champions, Japan were previous world champions and Brazil are a household name in the game,” Oparanozie said.
“But I believe in the team, we will do well at the Olympics, the girls will show what they are made up, they will make themselves proud.”
