DHQ Launches Manhunt for Simon Ekpa, 96 Others | Daily Report Nigeria

On Friday, the Defence Headquarters announced the pursuit of 97 individuals wanted for terrorism, violent extremism, and secessionist threats against the state.

Among the wanted persons is the factional leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Simon Ekpa.

Maj Gen Edward Buba, Director of Defence Media Operations, confirmed the identities and photographs of the suspects during a briefing in Abuja on Friday night.

According to Buba, the wanted persons, who include terrorists, bandits, and insurgent commanders, hail from the North East, North West, North Central, and South-East zones.

Here’s a breakdown of the wanted persons:

  1. North West Zone (plagued by banditry and kidnapping):

– Alhaji Shingi
– Malindi Yakubu
– Boka
– Dogo Gide
– Halilu Sububu
– Ado Aliero
– Bello Turji
– Dan Bokkolo
– Labi Yadi
– Nagala
– Saidu Idris
– Kachalla Rugga
– Sani Gurgu

  1. North East (affected by Boko Haram and Islamic State for West Africa Province terrorists):

– Abu Zaida
– Modu Sulum
– Baba Data
– Ahmad
– Sani Teacher
– Baa Sadiq
– Abdul Saad
– Kaka Abi
– Mohammad Khalifa
– Umar Tella
– Abu Mutahid
– Mallam Mohammad
– Mallam Tahiru Baga
– Uzaiya
– Ali Ngule

  1. North Central and South East (where 21 insurgents/militants and violent criminals are wanted):

– Simon Ekpa
– Chika Edoziem
– Egede
– Zuma
– ThankGod Gentle
– Flavour
– Mathew
– David Ndubuisi
– High Chief Williams Agbor
– Ebuka Nwaka
– Friday Ojimka
– Obiemesi Chukwudi (aka Dan Chuk)
– David Ezekwem Chidiebube
– Amobi Chinonso Okafor (aka Temple).

The military authorities, however, did not offer any monetary reward for information leading to the capture of the above individuals.
