Sean “Diddy” Combs has written an emotional letter to U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian, pleading for mercy just hours before his sentencing on Friday, October 3.

The four-page letter, dated October 2, laid bare the 55-year-old music executive’s remorse over his conviction on federal charges linked to abuse and trafficking. He directly addressed his past violence against singer Cassie Ventura, admitting that the assault still haunts him.

“The scene and images of me assaulting Cassie play over and over in my head daily,” Diddy wrote. “I literally lost my mind. I was dead wrong for putting my hands on the woman that I loved. I’m sorry for that and always will be.”

The Bad Boy Records founder described prison as a breaking point that has reshaped him. “Jail is designed to break you mentally, physically and spiritually. Over the past year, there have been so many times that I wanted to give up. The old me died in jail and a new version of me was reborn,” he said.

Combs said he has embraced sobriety, therapy, and rehabilitation during his incarceration, even mentoring rival gangs through a six-week programme called Free Game.

He claimed these efforts gave him hope and purpose.

He also appealed to the court on personal grounds, noting that he is the sole parent to his seven children following the 2018 death of their mother, Kim Porter. He cited his 84-year-old mother’s fragile health, stressing: “I no longer care about the money or the fame. There is nothing more important to me than my family.”

The embattled mogul insisted no influence could shield him from accountability. “I realise that I am in a situation where no amount of money, power, or fame can save me. Only God can save me,” he wrote.

His plea follows Cassie Ventura’s powerful victim statement earlier in the week, where she recounted years of abuse. Judge Subramanian is expected to deliver Combs’ sentence later today in the Southern District of New York.
