Elders and stakeholders of Okoroware Quarters in Diebiri Kingdom have declared the chairmanship position of the Diebiri Governing Council, vacant.
This is as they warned one Mr Johnbull Yokiri from parading Mandela Bomini as occupant of the office.
Addressing news men on Monday, the stakeholders led by the oldest man in Okoroware, Chief Gabriel Oluba, cautioned Mr Yokiri from parading Bomini as a nominee for the aforementioned office from the quarter.
According to Chief Oluba, Okoroware quarter has not agreed to select/ nominate any candidate for the chairmanship position of Diebiri, as the last meeting held for that purpose ended in a deadlock, and another meeting has not been schedule for that purpose.

“As the oldest man in the quarter and the clan, it is an insult to me and other elders for Johnbull Yokiri to impose someone on Okoroware and claim that such person was selected by Okoroware elders,” an angry Oluba said
“I advise all Okoroware sons to be calm and go about their businesses peacefully as another meeting for the formal selection of someone for the Diebiri chairmanship position will be called soon,’ he added.
Corroborating Chief Gabriel Oluba’s position, another elder Pa Sunday Oweifaware said he is surprised by the actions of Johnbull Yokiri, who, instead of making peace, is causing trouble for Okoroware quarter and the clan in general.
According him, the selection process of any nominee is by simple majority and no single individual has the power to impose anybody on the people.
Speaking in same vein, the secretary of the quarter. Comr Lucky Number-One, Chief David Namabiri and others all said “Okoroware quarter has not selected anybody for the position of Diebiri chairman due to the misunderstanding that arose from the last meeting and another meeting has not been called for the selection.
“Therefore, Mr Johnbull Yokiri and his cohorts should stop their mischievous characters to avoid breakdown of law and order.”
Meanwhile, the Diebiri Governing Council was inaugurated on Sunday with Mr. Alex Misoro, its Vice Chairman, overseeing the body’s affairs pending the emergence of a substantive Chairman.
