The former Kogi State governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dino Melaye, has weighed in on the ongoing rivalry between Nigerian Afrobeats superstars Wizkid and Davido.

Melaye believes that Davido is the clear leader of the Nigerian music scene and enjoys the most commercial success on a global scale.

On his X account on Wednesday, he wrote: “Davido is undoubtedly the 001 in the Nigerian music industry and is also the most widely recognized worldwide.”

This comes after a recent social media conflict between Wizkid and Davido on X, where Davido challenged Wizkid to a hit battle. However, the Starboy frontman has not yet responded to the challenge.
